Bridging the North
The 10th Partnership Conference of the University of Manitoba and the University of Iceland will be held virtually by the University of Manitoba November 12-13, 2021. The conference theme, Bridging the North, addresses geographical and cultural distance, ecological impacts and climate change, isolation and connection, continuity and collapse. We welcome proposals from the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, applied sciences, and cultural traditions, including Indigenous perspectives, in reference to Canada and/or Iceland. We also encourage proposals from fine arts, performing arts, storytelling, video, music, etc.
Proposals are to be submitted to um_icelandic@umanitoba.ca by July 15, 2021 and must contain the following information:
- Proposal title and outline (300-500 words)
- How the proposal relates to the conference theme
Papers will be juried by a committee of faculty at the University of Manitoba and the University of Iceland.
