Planning to upgrade my MacBook Pro SSD to a 3rd party M-Key with an adapter. I promised myself that I would finish my PhD with this computer. It could use this – what should be a simple upgrade – to get things clicking along nicely. Hopefully it helps with the final dissertation push through the rest of this year.
I hope that I was able to get the right parts. There is some question over the SATA vs. PCIe M-Key compatibility. Some notes on Amazon questions claim this SSD is SATA and not PCIe, but the SATA key format appears different from what I can see, so I’m uncertain. I discovered and examined these comments after putting the order through.
Edit: Just before posting I checked the M-Key description again and realised that the name specifies it as PCIe. Sometimes the Amazon questions don’t match the product. 🤷

Found this comment on reddit where the user claims it’s the only compatible SSD he could find that supports macOS sleep-wake function. That’s a bonus!
